A sunset can be many things, but above all it can connect us to ourselves in a mysterious way.
In Mexico I experienced the most beautiful sunset of my life on Isla Mujeres. When the sunny day transformed into the quiet night, I was drawn into the sea as smooth as a mirror. I went deeper and deeper into the water until the last sound of the beach disappeared. And then there was only me, the silence and the sunset. With deep pink and purple clouds the sky turned into a color spectacle and all colors danced on the silver peaks of the sea.
For me time stopped and I was only living in the here and now. In that moment I was the mild evening air, the salty water, the colored clouds and the mighty sun. I felt all energies at the same time and became one with everything.
During this unique and pure experience, I felt the opening of my crown chakra more strongly than ever before. I expressed this very experience of energy flows in the painting Sunset of Isla Mujeres.
With a real indigo blue agate slice, Sunset of Isla Mujeres is an interpretation of the sunset and all the energy currents that are omnipresent around us.
